1-INTRODUCTION
The limited edition WERCER
BOX is a commemorative pedal for the 40th anniversary of the Woodstock
event. This pedal will be offered all along the year 2009,of course, if I have
enough transistors ---needlesss to say the ordered pedal will be handwritten 1969-2009 unlike this sample .
Based on the acclaimed MERCER BOX circuit, the WERCER uses
original 1969 VALVO OC76 English Germanium transistors, taken from Royal
Air Force signal corp surplus. You may say this is a gimmick. Read this

2-THE VALVO OC76
If you are familiar with
germanium transistors, you know that they are now considered obsolete -- except
by stompbox weirdoes like we are!-- because their quality and technical data
are far from good. I usually dump 8 AC128 out of 10 when I select them for my
MERCER BOX.
But here, young lad,
this is different. I have never experiment with such good quality even
in modern famous brand silicium transistors. These babies do not vary more
than 2% one from the other, and all of them has perfect gain and noise
data, making them the PERFECT
transistor for distortion use. The tone result is so good I could cry. The only
thing is that I have only a limited number of them, making therefore this edition
a limited one.
