You can also dial in classic overdrive sound from the '70 for ambient slow songs or rock rhythm guitar.
This the 'cleaner than clean' sound often used by SRV. In this case, the goal is to minimize the distortion to obtain that flattering natural sound. A phrase is played by-passed ,then with the Mercer Box on clean.
PLEXI YOUR SOUND: The guitar goes into a TS7 and then in the Mercer Box. The Mercer Box is turned off and on alternatively so you can hear how the Plexi effect gives body to the TS7 stock sound. This works with every existing pedal.
